Support is needed for Alabama Medical Debt Relief Initiative 2. Alabama’s poverty rate (16.1%) ranks seventh in the nation, so earlier this year we decided to do something about it with our first Alabama Medical Debt Relief Initiative. In partnership with RIP Medical debt in 3Q 2023, we helped abolish $1,119,618 of debt for 1,407 of our neighbors in Barbour, Bullock, Dallas, Montgomery, Russell, and Russell counties. Because more and more people need help in communities with higher poverty rates in the state, we’ve launched another campaign in Chambers, Conecuh, Escambia, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Montgomery, Russell, Tallapoosa, and Wilcox counties.
We know first-hand that many of those we serve are plagued by past-due bills, debt collections, and derogatory credit due to medical debt. As a ministry first, we at the PRF Institute want to demonstrate our love for Christ, regardless of your faith belief, by showing love to those who need it most and in ways they can see and feel relief from NOW!
